Australia's single desk approach to wheat exports will stay, but control is to be stripped from the disgraced AWB.
The Prime Minister is set to make an announcement tomorrow, putting management control in the hands of grain exporters, who will be kept on a tight leash through the Government's Wheat Export Authority.
AWB came into disrepute last year, when it was revealed it had paid close to $300 million in kickbacks to Saddam Hussein's regime.
