AFR reports today that Glencore has put in a higher bid than Yancoal for Rio's hunter valley assets - WHC has a very nice business in a sector that many have condemned prematurely.
Which (a sudden move away from coal) perversely would still be good for WHC given the best assets may be more valuable with lower quality thermal coals left stranded.
