I do know of a number of small co's that have received calls prior to a formal notice.
Much depends on the diligence of the asx officer assigned to the company.
The WPL scuttlebutt relates to large currency transactions and people speculating on the reason. Just because Charlie Aitken thinks it will happen is no reason for WPL to answer unless requested formally...which they ultimately did. This is definitely not the same as a journo saying they are aware that a bid was received.
I am not feeling baited at all, I read and re-read the asx release and it pretty clear to me that CCP is the reason for the media speculation as the company has confirmed it. It is my understanding the company was asked to clarify the media speculation. I am not sure if the MD was unavailable to respond in a timely fashion (perhaps in a meeting??) or they required some legal advice or they wanted to notify the unmentioned company. I would be speculating as to the reason but clearly the company needed time to respond.
I have a very large position in EXS and I would like nothing more than someone to knock off the whole box and dice but the evidence is for something else and I can't produce more evidence than the company kindly provided.
