The ATO will accept the transfer as a loss and an accountant could have offset some of this loss against 16/17 financial year earnings if you could have lodged recently through an accountant. I had thought that the loss would be realisable only for the current financial year and onwards. If no previous losses have been claimed, it is the total loss of your capital incurred in trading PDN shares except for the 2% of your holding at 4.7c which you retained.
