AREVA is the prime candidate to move on Paladin. Africa is AREVA's prime stomping ground and having operated in Niger, they are well aware of the operating environment. It wouldn't surprise me if AREVA was actually resourcing the disruptions occurring down there in Malawi. It would be an effective way of creating more value for a possible takeout.
AREVA has a very limited exposure in Australia and if I was an AREVA shareholder I would be wondering why the second biggest U miner in the world does not have an active presence in the country that has the world's largest U reserves?
