PC43 or anybody else with some knowledge in this field,
You may be able to shed some light on what would be the break-even flow rate of Y-2 in mmcfd (I know its a hard one as there are so many variables).
Given that Yullaroo-1 encountered just over 30 metres of gas-saturated sands and we apparently now have approx 40 metres.
Also the theory was, the sands were deposited as bottomset beds at the toe of a delta and that Y-1 was not an ideal location and Y-2 was hypothesized to be a better location for sand/reservoir quality and reservoir thickness.
On what I have read there are indications that the sands in Y-1 were damaged by the use of water-based drilling muds and the practice of drillstem testing the sands without any cushion.
My estimate is that at best a rig could drill and complete 4 production wells in a 12 month drilling period at Yullaroo, however it wouldnt take much to fall below that figure. So we are not talking cheap when it comes to well completion costs.
From the information that has been released into the public arena, is there any suggestion that the situation has improved from Y-1 or is there so little to work on that you wouldnt hazard a guess on the break-even flow rate.
