You're looking at this the wrong way ... the 'full exit' is being seen as the destination ... you need to look at the journey ... that is how much time, effort and money has been wasted on Karoo since they ventured into it ... my guess is a lot more than "Karoo full exit won't cost PEN much money."
Karoo has been a flop for many many years ... unfortunately the person who was leading PEN was focused on Karoo as well rather than solely focusing on a US asset that was, and is, a company maker in its own right, and didn't maximise it to its full value or understand the make up of it.
Heck, PEN could have even been stuck with more assets ... so lucky it is not.
