Hello Landon and Mick,
Please see the below link Landon.
http://phuketsixes.com/
Please note Landon, that while my name is NOT mentioned on the above link (and I like it like that), the Phuket event would of NEVER come to fruition without Huey Marshall. My methods maybe, at times unconventional, but I do get the job done for the greater good of all concerned.
I have been forced to return to Oz by ONLY the Australian Government - and all the Vietnamese Government, Cong An (Police) and Immigration have wished me well and have asked me to hasten my return. A friend in Viet Immigration whom I have stayed in contact via email will be my airport pick-up!
I feel Vietnam could and should be the next Phuket. Not only Saigon, but also Vung Tau - and that is only the beginning.
Since arriving home I have been happy with talks I have had with various Australian cricketing/sporting organisations and hope to combine them with any future developments in Vietnam and greater Asia.
I have also decided to reenter the underground mining industry to further fund my sporting development dreams in South East Asia and I am quite happy to contimue to pour my invaluable time and money into this dream and recieving zero in return. My only stipulation is that where ever I (choose to) development/promote events in the future, the local population and people (not the opportunistic expat population) are made the No. 1 Priority.
And I feel this is one point that Landon and I have and did agree upon.
Lastly, I do understand Landon that quite a few of my emails CC'd to youwhilst I was Down and Out in Saigon may/would of left you wondering, 'What is this guy on??'.
And there is a simple answer to that - I was literally 'Running on Empty, Fresh Air, Momemtum and Love of Life'. If I had of had ANY support at all from my Governments Representation either in Saigon or Australia, I should of now been three months into 1 years study at Vietnam National University, but, due to my long-running War of Words (11 years) with the current incumbent regime, I was denied that opportunity for now.
Anyway gentlemen, I sincerely hope that we can all work together well in the future (me a behind the scenes man as always and with RMIT and the ACST taking the kudos) for the betterment of sport and the people of Vietnam/Asia.
Sincerely always.
Richard H. Marshall (Huey) ikkyu international Yarra Valley, Victoria AUSTRALIA
