Monday 21st has been announced and no news to the contrary followed, so it I would expect that it is going to take place as advertised.
Today's rebound in SP would indicate increased interest in the company and its prospects.
I am sorry for the people in Japan affected by the nuclear accident. Their misery just confirms that the alternate energy is a better way to go in the overall energy mix.
Good quality coal and gas fired electricity for the base load topped up by solar and wind electricity seem to be the ideal mix with the current state of technology. Future developments in geothermal and ocean wave electricity generation should be also encouraged.
Even if some parts of this infrastructure get damaged in natural disasters, at least they do not create the risks to health of general population, we are witnessing in Japan.
I can understand that geologically stable country like France decides to rely on nuclear power for their base load, but Japan which must be the most earthquake prone country in the world should not play Russian roulette with nuclear power. Tsunamis are common in Japan, this country gave the world the name for this natural phenomena. Not taking in account the possibility of impact on their nuclear power plant was a sheer stupidity, for which they now paying dearly.
I hope the world at large is watching and taking notes. The less risky options should always be preferable, even at higher cost. We all buy insurance and even if we do not have to claim, we consider it money well spent. Same philosophy should be used when designing vital infrastructure.
