"CM8 is a mobile-fist company with leading Q&A platform." so says their website.
And the Q&A business is doing really well.
Then they bought Track - why?
Was it to leverage the Q&A business?
Was this to enter into the M-Payments business ?
Or both? or Other?
Now they have launched Crowd Media - an influencer marketing agency
Another new business, which may or may not leverage the Q&A business (Can’t see how) or the m-payments business that Track provided.
So what is CM8?
- A global Q&A business?
- An m-payments business?
- An influencer agency?
- Other (did I miss some of their micro-businesses?)
- Or an investor & innovator of mobile-first businesses?
My concern is that they are the later, an investor & innovator of mobile-first businesses.
This is what CM8 looks like to me at the moment. And possibly the future.
If this is the case, then I have one major significant concern. To make this business model work they require cheap access to capital.
The do not have this. In fact, they have very expensive access to capital.
CM8 is looking like a variation of a Private Equity model (buy, merge, roll-up, rebrand, sell/float) without this key ingredient of cheap access to capital (or being private)
I am trying to get clarity into what exactly I would be investing in so that I can better evaluate the opportunity and risk, in comparison to similar business models.
I’d appreciate everyones thoughts and insights into this.
Thank you
