You are correct in that it is a great product. They do upgrade these. GPX4500 was the ducks nuts until the 5000 came along. Second hand market for 4500 is still strong.

Demand does not come from new fields, you use your GPX to go over old ones that the old timers missed - and there is heaps of it in WA alone, just get your Miners right ( $25 valid for life in WA ) and a section 40E permit ( $25 for 3 months over up to 3000 hectares of vacant crown land ) and you are away. Thats a lot of dirt to go over with a hand held unit.
