I haven't got my cheque back yet, but when it didn't clear I phoned the company and was told the offer closed the day before I put my application in the post.
It's worked out best for me that I missed out as I have picked up a few hundred thousand oppies on market for the same total cost as I would have got about 35-40K shares + options through the IPO. Admittedly with an exercise price of 30 cents there is more risk than there would have been with the shares.
