EMT is currently concluding a partnership with nexbis Solutions of Malaysia for the joint deployment and implementation of nexbis' suite of patent pending mobile NexCodeTM Security Products for Government authorities, with a focus specifically in Asia. The NexCodeTM technology, unique to nexbis, is the key to providing extremely high encryption while being straightforward to implement. Importantly, they provide a secure, robust and scalable platform to transform standard camera enabled mobile phones into secure authentication devices that gives users a reliable encrypted access to authentication information in real-time.
Utilising sapio's implementation experience and technology from nexbis, the growing demand for national security and identity authentication can be fulfilled with nexbis' products, which have a foundation in 2 dimensional barcode technologies but with unique customisations and proprietary development of methods, functionality and security by nexbis.
2 dimensional barcode technology for identity authentication purposes was very recently selected and endorsed by the United States Department of Homeland Security over other competing technologies such as RFID and smart-chips, due to its higher security and protection of identity information.
The use of mobile phones as a field enforcement tool makes for a very cost effective enabler and allows very rapid deployment. The solution has advantages over much more complicated and expensive field enforcement technologies thereby allowing governments to still apply wide-spread national security capabilities to its entire field enforcement team while being able to maintain a control over implementation and operational cost levels.
The NexCode™ solution covers the broad needs of 2 government authorities:
Road Transportation Departments - A product suite consisting of 4 modules enabling vehicle enforcement authorities to manage Vehicle Road Tax, Driving Licenses, Vehicle Registrations and Foreign Vehicle Road Tax.
National Security / Home Ministries - A product suite consisting of 4 modules enabling identity security and enforcement to manage National Identity Cards, Passports, Foreigner Work Permits and Visas on Arrival.
These distinctive modules can be inter-linked to provide inter-departmental synergy for cross-referencing information in the enforcement of vehicles and national identity security documents, providing an integrated national security approach.
