Well thats right should the shares reopen at 1c then happy days to the shorters, ( however hope of FGE re opening is a false dream ) In the case of IG sponsored shorts it may be that original purchase of position is refunded, this would depend on IG's liability exposure which should be manageable on FGE and willingness to be seen as the good guys, IG's block short positions are registered with ASIC and are there own product. I would be thinking that IG's fine print would have this covered in the event that a position can not be realised, but you would think there may be some chance.
