Shell's 30% interest in AOE's Australian tenements may be a concern to potential bidders though. There seems to be no option for AOE to buy back the 30% interest. While AOE had every reason to joint venture with Shell, would BG, Orgin, Santos , Woodside et al. want to have Shell poking at their sides?
There is now talk that Woodside may bid for Santos so may be the focus of the game is shifting to the bigger end of town.
I still hope AOE shareholders will get a better deal but I don't know what to expect now.
