I have

IMO the roadheaders they commissioned to drive the drifts are too big, apparently they cant get rid of all the dirt after each cutting cycle which becomes a huge problem when the design says shotcrete must be sprayed to the floor height so the have this tiny we hydraulic excavator to clean the muck on every cycle. this alone will be costing hours, other problems include conveyor breakdowns the list goes on. I have heard the down time is insane.
It makes drivage very difficult when you cant get anything in front of the roadheader to assist in excavation.
Imo they would have been better suited with a smaller roadheader allowing room for loader, excavator, shotcrete acssess and excavating with a benching technique.
They may lose this contract as well if things don't turn around and quickly but I cant see it happening with the roadheaders they are using

I thought that internally WDS re-engineered the roadheaders to suit the project? Was this not the case? If they are the issue for slowed production and progress on the drifts then surely they can be fixed to deliver the correct amount of waste product without clogging up???
