    Get the client off site would help in the case of eagledowns and let the contractor do the job, kinda blindfold them and replace any coal minded supervision with underground construction supervision until they hit any potential gas inflows and even then only let the deputy test for gas levels until it becomes a coal mine.
    until these things happen the contract will probably continue as it has been.
    I have seen it before, the deputy in most cases is a very casual operator with most having very little push and very low accountability when it comes to stuff ups but highly paid due to the ticket they have.
    It is a bad thing but imo a deputy should stay well away until the coal is in the face. Don't get me wrong some deputies are sheet hot but not many and to get a whole team of them together needed for a job like this one would be near impossible.

    The average coal mine worker is known as a vege and from these vege,s come deputies and from what I have heard it is the deputies that are the men organising the teams.
