yes, I knew The DJIA was a price weighted index, but only because I have gone through the process of learning how to build Index charts manually on excel, and 'equal price weighted' was much easier, and far less time consuming for me to make, than market cap based Index's.
The fact that the DOW is price weighted gave me some comfort that it was a legitimate way to calculate an Index, and I wasn't just taking the easy way out.
