IMHO the Salomons aren't trying to push TAS.
I rather think they just decided some time ago how they will comment TAS releases concerning EDE issues. Instead of just saying something like "we have a major shareholding in EDE and therefore we publish this also" they add some informative numbers.
Personally, I think this is good, because it adds transparency. Fine with me if they stick with that system forever.
