WesTrac Pty Ltd is the Caterpillar dealer for Western Australia, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Northern China. WesTrac is one of the larger Caterpillar dealers in the world and was established in 1989. WesTrac is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Australian Capital Equity, which in turn is owned by Kerry Stokes.
WesTrac’s branch network extends to 36 branches strategically located throughout WA, NSW and ACT. The Perth office is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for customer parts and service needs.
The company's major customers are from the mining, construction, forestry, local government, on highway truck engines and marine.
Supporting the supply of new, used and rental machines with industry leading after-sales service, the company has invested heavily in information technology as well as in workshop equipment and tooling. However, its greatest investment is in its people. Among the 2030 people on the payroll are 300 apprentices to cater for the future needs of the company.
As a 50% partner with Caterpillar in the Caterpillar Institute, an industry training facility situated at its Perth headquarters, WesTrac is dedicated to keeping its service capabilities up to date with the latest equipment advances as well as catering for general training needs. The Caterpillar Institute also offers training facilities to the various industries in which WesTrac does business.
