I assume (in context) that you are referring to iron ore sticking out of the ground - rather than my sons hair after a he gets up in the morning.

Be careful, however, people and geologists have often been duped by iron enrichment which typically occurs as a result of surfical chemical weathering processes associated with iron ore deposits (e.g. DSO located above magnetite rich strata, typical of the Mid West) – and hence the imperative to drill.

When people/companies quote surface sampling alone without historical drilling to test its continuity at depth, I get nervous, and it can be very misleading for unwary investors.
