But it is a Nett FIT using instantaneous in/out measurements (as in Qld) rather than netting off at the end of a billing period (as in Vic). The WA nett FIT comes close to a gross FIT for households with more than the smallest PV systems and where the house is empty for most of the day. It also encourages more installation of larger systems which are more cost efficient outside the RECs subsidy. While we would all prefer gross FITs this form of Nett FIT is a reasonable way of spreading limited money further. Admittedly it disadvantages the less financially able households which can't afford more than the smallest systems.
