Unlikely. Woolies and Coles have had a "quasi" pharmeceutical offering in their supermarkets for some time. If it had been a big winner, they would have expanded it a long time ago. Adding in a prescription capabaility is high cost - employing chemists for what is actually a relativley low volume business just cant compete with selling cheap milk. I doubt the pharmacy business conforms to their low cost / low price model. On top of that, the pharmeceutical industry already has big, centrally provisioned players, so the supermarkets would be entering a mature market. Hard slog. Just look at Woolies with their Masters hardware chain.
