In defence of coal explorers, miners (and all others who try to do positive things). Coal is KING. Check out how many coal fired power stations operate in the world today and how much coal they use. Then check how many power stations to be constructed are on hold because they cannot source a dependable coal supply. I believe there are about 110 in India, USA and China alone. The coal situation in Australia is political where our communist leaders seek to nationalise all mines farms and business thru excessive taxation. If coal stops burning in the foreseeable future the lights go out. Good coal supplies close to infrastructure are in high demand otherwise why is the world spending billions to develop new mines and ports? Check it out, the 2 Qld mines that recently shut down did so because they're at the end of their usefull life. A few more in Australia will shut down soon and none will open unless the communists lose the next election.
By the way, those of you who don't believe we're communist I suggest you check the credentials of the politicians and union leaders in power. Also in a so called free and democratic(whatever that is) society you can be whatever you like be it Catholic, Communist, Nazi, Green, Liberal, Moslem, fat, skinny, drunk or sober and smoke if you will,it's your choice. It's worth while remembering though, that whatever you choose, you usually have to live with.
