Lyon is a gun. In his second season he has a team that travels interstate every second week into the GF.
They had plenty of injury's throughout the year and went in with Johnson and McPharlan not fully fit. Maybe thats why Johnson kicked poorly all game. Got a couple of old blokes in key positions at either end of the ground and a bunch of youngsters for the rest.
They clearly choked, no surprise i spose. Hence the saying you got to lose it to win it. The Hawkes are a gun team and have been for a number of years so no shame in being beaten by them. Even chocking as they did they had plenty of set shots ect on goal.
Turned a loser club into contenders and maybe for a few years if they can find a key forward and fullback. They did have an easy draw this year but they took advantage of it. Been a fine season for them except for the last game where they shot themselves in the foot.
He can come and coach at West Coast any day of the week for mine.
well done, page-31
