magoo , thats not how it works mate . why would anyone want a horse going like a lunatic when blinkers were applied ? Be careful when bagging a former trainer of a horse you have a part share in . Horse trainers will see that as a negative . I would say the Hayes would feel the same . Weir won you guys a decent race with Amphitrite and set her on path that could take her anywhere.
A big percentage of mugs here count for nothing in the racing game and big chance they have never experienced the thrill of owning and backing winners.
Pete, I'm not bagging anybody, just telling you what I heard as in the use of jiggers, if true I don't know. And I was pointing out that Amphitrite has never worn any type of gear in a race, so my hope is nothing could spoil her victory in the guineas.
But, I wanted her out of the stable before this come out as I didn't trust Weir. Things were happening, When she won the Edward Manifold I was unsure as to her chances facing a massive step up in class, Weir told my uncle 10 minutes before the race I think she will win today. i got on but in the last 5 minutes of betting she was backed off the map. The syndication manager got a call telling him every pro in the country was on Amphitrite.
Then, after she won the guineas Weir was telling the owners on a constant basis we are going to the wakeful, we got an email confirming we are going to the wakeful, so everybody backed her to win the wakeful, 3 hours later Travis Noonan (racing, com) breaks the news via twitter, she is going to the Empire Rose, I bagged him out that's BS the owners have been told different, his response was who cares you will win plenty of money anyway. She went from $5-$2.50 before the announcement.
So as an owner, not only had our bets gone on the wrong race, we didn't get the odds on the Empire Rose! And in the process he lost the jockey Craig Williams because he was told Wakeful and booked Oohood in the Empire rose. He put Yendall on! Yendall stuffed the ride and he didn't get the cash anyway but with 40 owners it makes it hard to say let's take her out of the stable after you have won 4 races including a G! and a G2.
I appreciate we got a G1, and if you knew the events that happened just for me to end up owning a share you would scratch your head, but the owners were not treated with any respect, something i know won't happen at Lindsay Park.
