Of the two types in the link provided the white one could be improved by moving the "t " to about half way down the tank and returning the outlet from the t back to the tank creating a wet section to slow the water to improve the fallout time for the sediment. The green type can be improved by removing the ball and leaving it open so it will operate at all times. It is already at the bottom of a t piece and is a wet section below the pipe to the tank. You would still drain them as you normally would.
