Well, it's a bit better than a binary play. The company has found high grades of gold in a good number of locations, in this mine and nearby. It has permits in place and has established all the necessary infrastructure to mine and process gold. The gold price is also high.
So if Talang Santo turned out to be worthless, which no-one is suggesting, there is plenty of scope nearby. In fact, the company is probably worth its present price whatever the outcome at Talang Santo.
The downside is that the lower levels of this mine are/have been badly affected by water. That puts them on notice that they may have to deal with water at other sites in the future.
The email from the company said that four large pumping systems have been established on the 4 Level and that this provides "multiple layers of redundancy", all of which suggests that they have a good idea of the actual flow and what is needed to handle it.
By the end of July we shareholders will also have a better idea, so at present share prices it can only be the nervous nellies who are selling out and one wonders what they were doing buying gold shares in the first place.
