I thought the same but then why buy the Western Tanami from TAM? My understanding is that weather and other issues slowed things down in relation to the MMP over the CTP but at the same time NST is also exploring wider than joint TAM holdings but seem to have the CTP as the centre?
My own reading is the Granites to the South and the discoveries Newmont have made there underground is what may well have BB interested - I notice in the drilling planned that a lot was focused running South. I have no idea when the plant would be up and running - it would all depend on what the drill bit spins up I would think and I would think that BB would not rush to refurbish the existing plant id they were to find another good strike nearby which might well require a much bigger processing facility.. why else would they be buying up in the area other than they think something is there worth digging up? NST have done very well for shareholders on decisions made to date IMO..
Myself I am betting on NST's drilling - the way I see it TAM comes out ahead even if NST hits another big strike outside the CTP but within processing range of the CTP existing plant that would not require the same red tape to get going.. NST have already said they are looking for another 1moz within 100km of CTP - again why within 100km of CTP...
