Waste water discharge, page-3

    Hi.

I agree that the salmon insustry brings a lot of money to tasmania but profits are not everything.
What happens when Macquarie harbour is ruined because all the extra tonnage they put in sucks the oxygen out? While also dumping their waste from the pens that they collected back into the harbour.
Tassal will pull out of strahan and the town collapses. Not only because there is now no fish farm jobs but also no fishing in general. Tourists aren't going to visit a seaside that is dead.
Petuna goes under because they have all their fish in the harbour. So there's more jobs.
I can't imagine the share price will grow once consumers see what has happened and the flow on effects to the community.
Maybe that will make the boss's realise but I would hope it doesn't come to that.
I'm not anti fish farms or even anti Tassal, just need to be more sustainable.

From an investors perspecitve it probably doesn't matter at the moment. It's all about the shares and I get that, but in this situation it's more that and I hope people realise that as it is today the whole industry is on the edge and if Macquarie harbour is lost then so is a big chunk of that money tasmania desperately needs.

    Just my two cents
