Were you previously a etrade client and did they have same rules?

Interesting that if you have partially executed order still valid that you can probably change the buy price for example and provide the step or amend it to at market?

Back to the original idea to change a account to a different broker

I can see how the way you are doing it can be perceived as manipulation if it was a repeated pattern of uneconomic orders to ramp a price.
