I was quoting from the interview with the Talga Managing Director referenced above, but realise it's an extrapolation from sales figures of very small amounts to research labs. I guess he, like me, used the figure to point out the potential value change of the graphite to graphene process.
If one was to get an order for a tonne of graphene of the purity TLG and MRF are planning to produce, yes, the price would be much, much less. It will be while before we find out what that price will be, but I guess the point that was being made in the interview is that there is a huge difference in price between the different types and grades of graphite, and the more pure forms, and for high purity graphene.
By the way, many thanks for the numerous posts with links to the rapidly advancing story of graphite and especially graphene commercial applications. The wider market is only very slowly waking up to the potential, and has not yet fully appreciated the varied applications, and therefore differing values of known deposits.
You have made a solid contribution to helping that understanding for those interested.
