I hear what you are saying Eshmun and to a point some of what you say might be true, however, you are painting quite a sinister picture, one of insider trading, manipulation and conspiracy.

If for one moment we take everything you say at face value, and there is a story being spun, and someone or some organisation is doing the buying deliberately to prop the price up to prevent a catastrophe or "blow up" in the bond market, then it stands that that the recent fall in oil prices could of equally been manipulated down because we are all hearing the same story and talk which is being rammed down our throats ie Saudi, Iran, US frackers and that old chestnut supply & demand imbalances. One could argue by your logic there was any number of reasons that the oil price had to come down eg to make the current administration look good etc etc.

You can't have it both ways here if your explanation is that "....don't be fooled because this rise has been orchestrated.....", then it follows that you must also think that the fall has also been orchestrated by some force or guiding hand. Having said all that it's interesting to note that no one forecast what happened in the energy sector and if they said they did they are lying but how they all jumped in on the story bandwagon and there are still commentators regurgitating the same ol' same ol' which is quite pathetic to watch. I see a lot of sheep and not a lot of intelligence here.
