I see LYC produced 5444 t NdPr in FY18, and claims to service abt 65% of Japan's NdPr demand requirements of 6000 t (ie 4800 t). Presumably the balance is coming from China and India/Toyota JV. So Japan is largely captive to the politics of radioactive waste storage in Malaysia from Australian ore for most of that critical raw material supply. Bet they're totally comfortable with that one LOL!
It seems to me that ARU's DFS completion - which features a 100% Australian option, ore to oxide, radioactive waste management at Nolans, not in some developing country - couldn't have come at a more opportune time with Japan and other ROW demand growing, nothwithstanding LYC's NEXT expansion which simply adds to its Malaysian problem. Maybe LYC ought to be investigating adding to its NdPr sales to "the Dragon" (as concentrate from WA for peanuts LOL). No doubt that's where 644 t (5444-4800) of LYC's current NdPr production is going, despite Dragon spare capacity, set to grow real soon IMHO.
