i would say that VSL ran up to $1.59 as the market was suspecting a good turnaround and probably some traders got in. Performance wasnt disastrous but it wasnt great either so it has been sold down, on current figures it is not necessarily cheap and i can think of better value plays when comparing PE and yield although according to comsec it is trading below book value
I would also say that as Investors mutual are a substantial holder they rate VSL highly however seem to do their buying in the low $1.00s and i would be surprised if there average price was higher than the low $1.00's so it isnt as if no one likes it it is just the funds arent prepared to chase it
i dont see it as a screaming buy and sold it last week at $1.32 as this was my profit stop however this is just my strategy and i am happy to be proved wrong although i have made a nice profit and will be happy to get back in at alater date.
