re: vrlpa does not have yield its a trade Hiya all,

I don't get what you mean re : VRLP and yield.

Doesn't anyone understand that there is no dividend this year? I repeat, no VRLPA payment of dividend this year, see the announcment. VRLPA dividend payment this year = $0 "ASIC found the decision by the board of Village Roadshow to
suspend preference share dividends was permitted under the constitution
of the company." So you can argue till the cows come home that the website says they will pay a dividend, but they are not..

Obviously, volume would be higher since the share is lower in price, thus more are traded. If I buy $10,000 worth of VRL compared to VRLPA there are less shares traded in VRL thus this is why there is more volume.

VRL and VRLPA have almost the same share issue about 240 million. VRL would have a NTA VRLPA would not, because they are preference shares. VRLPA is only worth what dividend it pays, nothing else, if VRL went broke they are worthless, VRL holders would be placed in front of VRLPA for any proceeds, not that VRL will go broke but I'm just trying to let you understand what a preference share really means.

VRL will want to cancel preference shares as cheap as possible, since they do not want to pay the dividend. The company is working against you since they are a useless entity to them and will want to get rid of them. Their overall policy is not to pay dividends since they want to reinvest all the money into more movies like a USA company as stated many times in the announcments.

Anyway, just some points, VRLPA may be a good trade, but I wouldn't want to be holding them if the music stops...

    :)
