Kirbies own the majority, otherwise they would already have been taken over, just like Packer took over Hoyts, since its a media company and thus it means control.
I think Kirbies aim is to take the company back privately rather then allow a takeover, since it is undervalued currently. Just look at its partner in USA AOL and the multiples it trades at.
Anyway, I friend of mine said that Kirby had a great comment recently to the press - a lot of fund managers have been bagging the stock, but they are the same ones that are the biggest buyers :))
I see VRL and BIL as 2 both misunderstood currently and undervalued value companies that could fruit nice rewards on the longer term if you have larger amounts of capitals to play with and you are patient.....
Why I have less interest in VRLPA, since it is too complicated and eventually may not exist, rather own VRL, who cares about the dividend that won't be paid anyway, VRL wants to destroy VRLPA since its an annoying part of its company structure..
