So much potential, but ridiculously debt ridden, and continuing to show ongoing losses.
Do Vodafone and TPG even need to merge. Maybe they just need to work really close together and wholesale off each other. The announcement 3 days ago maybe the start of this. On that announcement... It really shows how f'udged up the Vodafone Network is. Vodafone has been using a low cost radio back haul for many of its towers. Now with 4g speeds at 600mbps on a single handset, and in the future hitting over 1gbps, the need for multi gigabit speeds at the base station is approaching rapidly. Adding fibre to 4000 towers is going to be expensive.. But it is most definitely required. I found growth numbers in the 6 monthly report to be anaemic..and the larger loss surprised me, I thought this would be reduced or gone.
Expenses appear to be rising as more staff are hired, their business centre stores opened.
It would appear that the foot soldiers are being summoned with the Synnex Deal, TPG wholesale deal, and more retail stores and business centre stores.
Make no mistake I think this is something they need to do but it all comes at a cost and reduced margins.

I believe that it will turn around one day and TPG is now a logical partner.
However if TPG buys/merges HTA/Vodafone, i would be very concerned that the sale price may not be capable of repaying the loan, in fact that is very likely.
So HTA sells its share, 60% of the loan is repaid. And now HTA shareholders have no phone company and a massive debt. There is a real risk shareholders will be screwed, as the secured creditor is looked after.
