Well yes they get the ‘oppies’ because the huge majority of shareholders voted for them. Using the ceo as an example, 83m voted for and 2m or so voted against. Nearly all those invested agreed this is fair and reasonable, mostly large and experienced investment funds. The board won’t earn anything from these options unless they engineer a significant increase in the SP.

Some of the comments on this board show a lack of investment experience and of how companies work in the real world. So many wanted management to get a good kicking at the age, some wanted the ceo sacked, it’s easy to rant and moan from the secrecy of your computer but who turned up in person? I think one who gave a reasonable summary of what transpired.

Firstly, it’s not the job of the board to manage the SP on a day to day basis. it’s their job to manage the clinical trial and development process. The SP will reflect that. And yes I too am disappointed about the pace of the trials. But I’m excited about the results and the range of cancers that may be treated. I’m holding because, on balance, I believe a pharmaceutical company will one day make a bid.

Secondly there are continuous disclosure rules. They cannot give an ongoing commentary if there are any informal discussions with potential partners. But when there is a formal bid this has to be disclosed in a proper way.

Finally, I can’t understand how people who think so little of the bod’s capabilities continue to hold stock. If you really don’t believe the bod is boing its job....which surely is a fundamental requirement for investing in a company.....why would you continue to hold and post negative comments which if anything else will help drive the SP down? Why not just sell and move on?
