QUINTESSENTIAL Resources is expecting to unveil some solid grades from two recently drilled holes at the Mal prospect of its flagship Bismarck project in Papua New Guinea, with copper and molybdenum mineralisation already visible in the diamond drill core.

On the first hole, which ended prematurely at a depth of 485.5m due to “downhole caving issues”, the explorer said the core contained 12 narrow but significant intercepts of copper, molybdenum or gold.
Final assay results for the core beyond 416.5m in depth were about 2-3 weeks away.
The most notable intersection so far was 2m at 0.67% copper from 103m down the hole.
But Quintessential said there was a 16.6m intersection in a porphyry dyke which was being assayed.
On the second hole at the prospect, Quintessential said it intersected a 255m wide zone of porphyries/intrusives from 385m to 640m down the hole.
“The core is consistently mineralised containing varying proportions of pyrite, chalcopyrite and molybdenite,” it said.
Assay results for the second hole were expected in 3-4 weeks.
