Virgin Blue Group and Skywest airlines have signed a ten year strategic alliance to service regional Australia.
The deal will see Skywest operating up to 18 new Virgin Blue aircraft to existing and new destinations around Australia, and will allow customers of both airlines to earn and redeem Velocity reward points on each others networks.
Virgin Blue Group of Airlines CEO and managing director John Borghetti said: The first aircraft will arrive mid 2011 with four Virgin Blue branded aircraft in operation by the end of the year.
Details of the network and flight schedule will be announced in the coming months.
