No expert here either, I just like their approach. It's one thing for WBT to state that AI is pushing the requirements on memory, it's quite another to have a research project underway that will showcase how ReRAM can meet these requirements. I could be very wrong, but getting a bunch of partnered research projects underway now could be invaluable come commercialisation time. Successful projects will offer solid proof that ReRAM can do what it's supposed to do. Real-world success and endorsements. Trying to do this in-house could be prohibitively expensive, but by partnering with places such as IIT, the WBT technology gets a workout, hopefully with results that back the push for commercialisation.
