Not familiar with the timing of State govet moves but doubt excited pub and club owners will want recycled stock in preference to new, but it might depend on their funding. I think if I went to a lender and asked them to lend me money to buy a pokie I would move to the front of the queue. All has got avery strong presence and brand in this industry. However it is such a big global business that this is just one state in one country. The big picture is much bigger these days. What will happen to Tats and Tabcorps machines? Not much of a secondary market for them they need service backup. They ship the older refurbished stuff off to places like South America. One thing that has made business a bit quiet in Oz is the smoking rules. The pubs and clubs have had to spend money on refurbishing and thus have often delayed replacement of pokies, but players do get bored with the same machines after some years and want something different to play. Expect there will be some catch up in the other states. Its pretty much a replacement market in Oz or was, until the Vic thing, but the real action lately has been in the developing world, prob in tourist resorts. Thats where a lot of trade ins may end up. Its good business. More exports for Australian manufacturers. With our BOP we need all the value adding exports we can get.
