So in my mind, this use of terminology and what represents horizontal and vertical fracturing is allowing offshore explorers to drill to onshore sits, albeit at considerable extra cost.
However, LKO has indicated that it believes that it can access gas through conventional vertical drilling.
The judge will be looking at all of this to determine if rules have been applied by the government and therefore whether LKO has been treated unfairly compared to other explorers.
To further muddy the waters comes this announcement by the vic government to which i would call a serious case of a covering if they outcome from the court is negative.
Trust me though judges have a knack of simplifying things to be able to then apply the laws as they stand.
