    Notice the $US to ZAR best it's been for yonks overnight - 6.63. With platinum at $US861 and the investment arithmetic so conservative, SLV’s 25% of RK1 Kroondal should contribute about $4m to the coffers in its first year notwithstanding the ‘slow’ start-up (and even there, it’s hard to fault the speed of construction or commissioning of the RK1 plant which began producing in December just 9mths after the intention to build was announced on March 9th 2004).

    It’ll be most interesting to see how RK’s 2 & 3 (Marikana & Everest South) shape up.

    The point is Ed is a ‘can-do’ sort of guy. Sylvania is not one of those West Perth mining companies that will never actually produce anything.

    This new ground at Everest North is extremely valuable …and, what’s more important, something productive WILL be done with it!
