At sub $3.90 last week WTF was a very high probability trade scalp or a good portfolio dividend yielding addition for the long term SMSF holders. Other than that I really cant see why you would hold WTF with what appears to be a very mature Australian accomodation market.
After meeting with management at their head office some bright spots include some web platform initiatives that will increase user friendly aspects. I will agree with them that this helps maintain their economic moat but again I ask where is the growth?
With Webjet's sales accelerating in the accomodation space I was curious what management's thoughts were towards WEB's claims that customers book flghts before accommodation therefore it is a natural consumer response to then book accommodation on the same internet portal. Utilising one internet portal is a convenience that I can clearly see. However management refutes this claim and says that customes book through a carrier flight and then the WTF site. A good point but time will tell whether WTF will maintain their "1 in 10" accommodation dominance.
I wouldnt be surprised if WTF is $4.20+ next week. I dont hold but enjoy investing/trading/ speculating on the stock exchange and find WTF very interesting!
Sorry for the rant just really bored at home and by the way you shouldnt value WTF through tangible assest or book value or reproductive value. WTF should be valued as a perpetuity and the quality of its discounted earnings stream.
