qantas along with jetstar have totally cut virgin off at their end of the market, they have better connections all throughout asia, better alliances, better frequent flyer programs and redemptions, over 8 million memebers in australia at last count.
put simply, qantas is better managed and run and if you got past your prejudices of the australian airline, you'd find that what you hear anecdotally from a counsins friends sisters aunty who got have a piece of baggage not arrived once, its actually not a bad airline at all in the grand scheme of things.
just a stroll through both terminals when they are side by side, the business crowd of qantas or the unwashed masses in virgin.
