Mate iron ore is transported as a bulk material, prices say $70/tonne. Vanadium price @ $15/lb is $33,000/tonne. See what I'm getting at here. Transportation costs to port are negligible in the scheme of things.
One example that springs to mind as I was involved in the construction is Gold Road Resources, who pipe gas to site from Laverton which is about 200km away, and I don't believe that 'aboriginals made it too hard'. Yes it is not cheap, but that isn't new news to us here.
