    i agree with what you are saying around intelligent system design etc. We also need tariff reform - network pricing is a joke. But I've worked pretty deep in this space and the 20-30% solar penetration is a rule of thumb/myth. We can easily get to 50%+ with load matching to solar and adjusting settings on transformers. Networks are still running off peak hot water at night time in areas of high solar penetration this should be day time to soak up solar. 100% renewables will definitely require storage, maybe even Vandadium, but have a look at global demand - its a steel additive first and foremost, and price is being driven by chinese environmnental regulations on steel production - http://www.recyclingtoday.com/article/plastic-scrap-china-import-ban-2018-mixed-paper/
