Yes the political environment in Germany is stubbornly anti nuclear but not withstanding that. Even if there was magically the political will, the timeframe from planning/ engineering/ construction/pre testing/ full commissioning would be a decade. This is of course before the real issues of ‘cost of capital,and capital cost’, returns to investment in a market with falling renewable $/kw . Simply your investing a huge amount for a distant future return. Grid size batteries can be up in a 1/10th of the time, allow flexibility/ safety in the grid and also stand alone systems without need for grid infrastructure.
